Hi dear Family and Friends,
Greetings from Baja. We hope and pray that you are finding peace and hope in this time of craziness in the world. As our ”normal” circumstances have changed, and many aspects of life may be difficult, let us always remember that Jesus is on the throne and in control of all things.
We have heard from many of you asking how we are and how life is down in Mexico during this pandemic. We personally are blessed to be able to wake up in this beautiful valley every day and we are even able to forget the craziness for periods of time. When we go into Ensenada though, it looks much like the rest of the world-with masks, social distancing and long lines to get into the bigger stores. Mexico is a bit behind the US in all of the closures and therefore the opening of things as well. As of Friday (5/22) the border closure (to non-essential crossing) was extended to June 22. Also, because there are more covid-19 cases up in the border cities, Ensenada has “closed its doors” with no one allowed to come in without paperwork showing proof of residence. As with many things, it is not clear how long these closures will last.
As the news reports about people being quarantined at home with not a lot to do—that is not the case with us…because we are still in the building stage of Walk the Narrow Road, we are very busy with many projects that include building, painting, moving, maintaining, planting and watering etc. So we continue to move forward albeit in a little bit different manner—people may not be able to come down from the states at this time but we have had quite a few local friends coming out on a regular basis. We are blessed to have our friends Tomas, Delia and some of their boys help us as well as Evan, a friend who has been here for several months. Pastor Marcos, his family, and the group of ladies that they work with have also been out to help move, clean and do various projects.
We would like to take a moment to share that you can see a lot of photos of these projects on the Walk the Narrow Road website. We are blessed to have it up and running and are thankful for the many hours that Evan put into making it. You can access it at

Things to ponder, things to pray about:
Beans and rice for local churches |
1.As there is much fear in the world—how do we move ahead, how do we react to people, what about being “safe”? We are attempting to live life with wisdom and precaution but at the same time choosing to put people and their needs first as we are able. Many people in this area live day-to-day making barely enough to survive, and so they keep working…until they can’t. Please pray for wisdom and guidance on
how we can best help and love people.
2.Lindsey has been at home with us during this time. She was in New Zealand at Bible school when we got the call in March that the country was closing down and that the students were being sent home. She has been able to continue her classes on-line but she has sorely missed the ability to talk and connect with her teachers and friends. She has one more semester of classes to finish the two-year Bible School program, please pray that God will make it clear when and where this will happen.
3.We have from the beginning, and even more so now as the world continues to change, been praying that God’s will be done with this ministry. What it will really end up looking like long term, and how it and we can bring the most glory to God. We continue to build towards the idea of a trade program and also a place of rest. Please be praying with us about these things.
4.The first fire scare of the season happened on Saturday…a ranch down the road started a “controlled” fire that got out of control. It got to the southwest ridge of Narrow Road Ranch but a lot of people were praying and God blessed us with safety. Because we had a very wet spring we have the potential for a lot of very dry brush in the next few months. We would appreciate prayers for a miracle of protection over the valley this whole summer.
